Mt. Makalu standing as the fifth tallest peak on the earth with its height 8,485m among the eight highest mountain in Nepal having the elevation above 8,000m. Mt. Makalu located in the eastern Himalayan range just 19km southeast of the enormous Mt. Everest in the border of Nepal and China. Our expedition to Makalu starts from the flight to Tumlingtar, a region eastern Nepal between Arun and Sabha rivers in Sankhuwasabha district. On the trail, you will stop by different amazing places with breathtaking views. Besides that, the valley offers you stunning elevated waterfalls falling inside the deep gorges, diverse species of flora and fauna. A rich culture of ethnic groups community of sherpas and Kirat residing in that place.
To climb Makalu, you need to be physically fit and should be easy to adapt to the altitude because of the challenging weather condition. Alternatively, the Makalu expedition is full of adventure with isolation in nature. The journey takes you from the bustling valley of Kathmandu valley through the subtropical and alpine ecological zones to the magnificent snowy mountains.
MT. MAKALU EXPEDITION (8485M)
Day 01. Arrival to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel after check in free (1310m)
Day 02. After breakfast preparation for expedition and briefing for expedition and overnight in hotel.
Day 03. Flight to Tumlingtar and drive to Num and overnight in Camping (1600m)
Day 04. Trek to Seduwa and overnight in Camping tent. (1570m)
Day 05. Trek to Tashigoun and overnight tent (2100m)
Day 06. Trek to Khongma and overnight tent (3470m)
Day 07. Trek to Mumbuk Via Keki La and overnight in tent (3700m)
Day 08. Trek to Yangle Kharka and overnight in tent (3550m)
Day 09. Trek to Jyak Kharka and overnight in tent camp(4200m)
Day 10. Trek to Makalu Base Camp and overnight in tent (4700m)
Day 11. Rest Acclimatize.
Day 12. Trek to High base Camp of Makalu (5340m)
Day 13 to Day 38 Climbing Period from basecamp to Summit 8485m and basecamp.
Day 39. Cleaning up Base Camp.
Day 40. Trek down to Yangle Kharka and overnight in tent.
Day 41. Trek back to Mumbuk and overnight in tent.
Day 42. Trek down to Tashigoun.
Day 43. Trek down to Num.
Day 44. Drive back to Tumlingtar and fly back to Kathmandu.
Day 45. Debriefing and rest and overnight in hotel.
Day 46. Flight back to home.
